Overview

Dr. Uttara Partap is an epidemiologist with interest in women’s health. The primary goal of her research is to better characterize reproductive health (including reproductive disorders such as fibroids and endometriosis, as well as other menstrual disorders) and non-communicable diseases (including cardiovascular and metabolic health and mental disorders) among women, and their interlinkages. She has planned and led several multidisciplinary research projects in global women’s, children’s and adolescent health in a wide range of settings in Asia and Africa. Her experience spans primary and secondary research studies, including observational designs, randomized controlled trials, and systematic evidence syntheses. Prior to joining IISc, Uttara has held postdoctoral appointments at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the University of Cambridge, and the Wellcome Sanger Institute.
